Water Sports Assistant Manager



Role Description

As Water Sports Assistant Manager, you will manage the operation of all the activities that are offered by our Hayman Water sports team. This includes but not limited to vessel maintenance, crew training and certification, daily operation of tours and experiences and a focus on guest satisfaction. You will also be responsible for the daily operation of the Intercontinental Hayman Island Marina Harbour, taking control of all vessel movements, and managing berthing requests for our hotel guests wishing to bring their own boats to the marina.

With strong leadership skills, you will manage a team of 4-5 coxswains and water sports staff, being responsible for their overall training and induction, rostering, timecard approval and being their first point of call for any questions and challenges.

Role Requirements

We are looking for enthusiastic and professional team players who knows how to deliver great service and exceed guest expectations. The successful candidate will have:

Experience – ideally, you’ll have spent at least one year in a similar position, have experience in a marine environment and be familiar with marine operations.
You will be familiar with AMSA regulations and how these relate to keeping vessels in safe operation and meet all AMSA requirements in the event of an inspection.
Hold a current and valid Master V / Master 24 certificate of competency.
Hold a current and valid MED II or higher certificate of competency.
Understand nautical terms, procedures, and related functions.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
